A day ago, people accused former Fortnite Duo World Champion Aqua for stream sniping in a tournament. Additionally, the list of accusations also had him leaving a shakedown mid-game. Both of these are punishable offenses in competitive games, and it could lead to Epic banning Aqua.

Aqua recently shared on Twitter an in-game screenshot that displayed a ban message from Epic. This was after he had gotten a warning for ‘intentional disconnect’. The world champ has received a two-week ban from playing Fortnite. However, the message displayed the reason for the ban as ‘other’, not really specifying why Aqua was got the hammer.
The ban has really riled him up, following which he went on an exposé spree on Twitter. He has tagged players and shared clips, asking Epic to be fair with their actions. If the developers have punished him for something, Aqua expects them to do the same with everyone else who is guilty of a similar offense.

Aqua accuses BenjyFishy of stream-sniping in Fortnite tournament
Since 100T Savage and benjyfishy were the frontrunners on accusations against Aqua, he retaliated against them following his ban. He shared a clip on Twitter, calling them out for checking the friend list for griefing Aqua’s game. In the clip, benjy can be heard saying, “If we full grief them, they don’t qual.”
He also shared another clip where they intentionally died to join Aqua’s game.

Aqua believes that this is similar to stream sniping, and hence Epic should ban these players too. He shared a couple more clips where players killed themselves to ensure that the opponents don’t get the points for kills.
and again pros killing themselves so the other team cant get kill points/siphon (watch till the end) pic.twitter.com/i2PEJoDwRr

There are people on both sides of the fence here thinking whether the punishment for Aqua was too harsh and how Epic should implement these for others as well. However, Jake from Esports Talk feels that the real reason behind Aqua’s ban is something else.
Aqua is the first recipient of a ‘clout farming’ ban
Jake uploaded a video where he reminded people that Epic had updated their competitive rules a while ago. The update included a provision of ‘clout farming’ as a punishable offense. After Aqua received the warning for intentional disconnect, he went on to joke about cheating and stream sniping in a couple of his tweets. Such tweets constitute misrepresentation about cheating and are punishable under the said clout farming rule.

Hence, Aqua could be one of the first official recipients of a ban from Fortnite due to clout farming, making him an example in the community. The reason has also been confirmed by Aqua in an apology tweet where he asked Epic to reconsider the ban. Due to the ban, Aqua will miss out on the FNCS Heats and the Finals which will also negatively impact his teammates.
