Owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, Epic Games had canceled the Fortnite World Cup in 2020. Moreover, all the FNCS tournaments and Cash Cups were held online. Unfortunately, in-person events are still a far-off possibility in 2021. As a result, this year’s edition of the FNCS is also being held online.
While the competitive side of things has suffered, Chapter 2 Season 5 FNCS turned out to be an enormous hit. The Grand Finals recently concluded where some of the most celebrated Esports athletes in the world like Bugha, Clix, benjyfishy, and Mongraal had competed against each other.
Amidst all these big names, 100 Thieves’ Arkhram has created history by winning the FNCS Finals in NA-West region on a controller. He had teamed up with 100T rehx, and NRG Epikwhale to achieve this glorious milestone.

Fans around the world are well aware of Arkhram’s impeccable skills. Over the years, he has won a plethora of competitive tournaments and earned millions by playing Fortnite.
Arkhram started playing Fortnite on controller in Chapter 2 Season 5
Arkhram’s FNCS win is surprising because he had played on keyboard and mouse since the beginning of his professional career. Back in February, he suddenly decided to try playing on controller. Despite being arguably the best keyboard and mouse player in the world, the pro had claimed that his potential on controller is even higher.

As expected, fellow pros and fans had criticized Arkhram for leaving keyboard and mouse. The FNCS was right around the corner, and such a huge change could have drastically affected his consistency.
To say the least, Arkhram has proved all his doubters wrong. Alongside Epikwhale, he is now one of the few players to boast FNCS wins on both controller and keyboard and mouse.
Content creators and pro players react to Arkhram’s iconic FNCS victory
Fortnite veteran Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop was one of the biggest names to oppose Arkhram’s shift to controller. He had also anticipated that this shift won’t last long, and the 100 Thieves’ prodigy will soon realize that he’s already the best at keyboard and mouse.
You actually played controller?!

Nah I know I’m not gonna lie roasted him on my stream for wasting his time switching when he is already the best on keyboard and mouse but he proved him wrong. I thought he would just stop playing controller

Founder of 100 Thieves, Nadeshot, also congratulated his Fortnite team:
Absolutely love to see it, boys. Congrats!

Arkhram’s performance impressed the VP of Esports in 100 Thieves, Jacob Toft-Andersen, so much that he called the Fortnite pro a ‘god’. Just like many others, Jacob had expected that this shift will not last for a long time.
A few weeks ago I was talking about how your swap would probably only be temporary because you'd realize KBM is better.
Well… you're a god.

It is safe to assume that this is just the beginning of Arkhram’s journey as a Fortnite pro on controller. He already has an FNCS Grand Finals win under his name, and will certainly recreate his keyboard and mouse success on controller now.
