Technology has indeed come a long way and we have come to rely on it quite heavily. While it makes our life much easier and comfortable, there is a flip side to it. In the event of a malfunction or disconnection, life becomes a tad disappointing, especially with the pandemic still cramping our lives. Fortnite faced some issues with its authentication process, rendering multiple features unusable. Players were quick to express their dismay on Twitter.

Fortnite Throwback Cup postponed
A Fortnite tournament is always an eye-catching event. Epic Games recently announced a new Fortnite Throwback Cup, featuring Bugha, Aqua, and Nyhrox. The Throwback Cup has been dedicated to the reigning World Champions. At the Fortnite World Cup last year, Bugha won the solo event while Aqua and Nyhrox won the Duos event.
Bugha will be holding a Solo event while Aqua and Nyhrox will hold a Duos tournament. Similar to Bugha’s tournament, Aqua and Nyhrox’s Throwback Cup is also open to all competitive Fortnite regions. The Aqua and Nyhrox Throwback Cup was supposed to begin today and end on July 29. However, following the issues with its servers, Epic Games announced the postponement of the event.
Due to the unfortunate impact of today's issues we will be rescheduling today's Throwback Cup for Oceania and Asia to tomorrow. The events will start 4 hours prior to the start of Round 2 and be 10 games across 3 hours as a result of the move.

The problem with authentication servers of Epic Games is not new. For those of you who are not aware, there was a similar problem a couple of months back.
Epic Games had offered GTA 5 for free for a few days a little while ago. Unsurprisingly, the response was overwhelming. So much so that it resulted in a timed-out authentication problem with Epic Games’ online services.
We're aware that some users are encountering the following error message on the Epic Games Store: "Your account is unable to download any more free games at this time."
If you receive this error, please wait 24 hours. You should then be able to proceed with downloading the game.

We need to understand that these problems are common with online games. Many of the applications we use today fail to respond sometimes because of server issues. We can just hope that these issues get resolved soon.
