It’s all festive in Fortnite right now with this year’s holiday-themed event, Operation Snowdown, going live in the game. A lot of things are new in the game with this latest update, and a lot of holiday-themed features have made their reprisal this year.

However, the highlight of this event is the return of planes! Epic had previously launched planes in the Season 7 update back in 2018, as part of a winter-themed update for the game.

This is what the official announcement for the event says about planes.

“Having a battle-filled background, Snowmando has brought in wintery items from his piercing past. Take flight in Snowmando’s custom X-4 Stormwing planes, and on the ground, disguise yourself as an ordinary snowman with Sneaky Snowmandos, cause cold feet with Chiller Grenades, and gift yourself loot with Snowmando-wrapped Presents!”

But wait! Fortnite Operation Snowdown has much more to offer!

An interesting addition to this year’s Operation Snowdown event is the snow fish. These snow fish are basically floppers that heal a certain amount of HP as well as grant certain abilities. In a recent video, Fortnite streamer SypherPK showcased how to obtain the snow floppers and how to use them.

With the return of planes, the fan-favorite Air Royale has made a return to the game as well. In addition to this, there is the new Shockwave LTM. The official announcement describes this as “players compete to knock each other into the (extra-strong) Storm as it shrinks down to nothing“. Furthermore, Pickaxe Frenzy has arrived in the LTM form for the first time ever!

Looks like FN just wished us a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
