Over the four years of its release, Fortnite has introduced a ton of unique features and items for its players. The game’s arsenal that originally comprised just guns, now has several bizarre weapons like Cuddle Fishes and the Grappler.
Similarly, the first vehicle in Fortnite’s history was a shopping cart. This was just the beginning as the players have traveled across the island on helicopters and hoverboards since then.
It comes as no surprise that not every feature in Fortnite is an original concept by Epic Games. The developer leaves no opportunity to take inspiration from other titles, and bring similar items, skins, and mechanics to its own Battle Royale title.

Chapter 2 Season 6 of Fortnite is entirely based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Interestingly, the primal themed Chapter 2 Season 6 seems to be copied from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The map not only has a pre-historic look, but wild animals are also roaming around. This resembles the open-world of Breath of the Wild which contains chickens, wolves, and boars.

Players can use chickens to glide in Fortnite now, which is a feature that we have originally witnessed in Nintendo’s award-winning game. In addition to that, Epic Games replaced the snipers with bows in Chapter 2 Season 6. Bows play a huge role in the gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and even the mechanical parts in Fortnite resemble the ancient parts from the action RPG.
Season 6 is definitely not the only season in which Epic Games took inspiration from its competitors. In fact, the gold and bounty system from Chapter 2 Season 5 is based on Call of Duty Warzone. Ever since its release, players could take on bounties, earn cash, and buy items from it in Activision’s Battle Royale game.
Recycler in Chapter 2 Season 6 is from Creative Destruction
Creative Destruction is a popular mobile game that largely replicates Fortnite’s meta. However, Epic Games turned the tables this time, and copied the ‘Destructor’ gun from the game, and released it as the Recycler in Chapter 2 Season 6. Both the guns suck up the nearby items and turn them into ammo.
Top5Gaming talked about the concept behind the Recycler in Fortnite in a recent video:

Copied skins in Fortnite
As usual, Epic Games has released a plethora of new skins in Chapter 2 Season 6. From the looks of it, some of these skins like Tarana and Webster are copied from other games. While the former is like an armor style from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the latter is clearly inspired from Chica in Five Night at Freddies.
Even though there are a lot of copied items in Fortnite, it does not imply that Epic Games lacks originality. Fortnite is still one of the biggest games in the world and has revolutionized the Battle Royale genre of gaming with a meta that includes building and editing structures.
