Fortnite battle royale has seen several unfortunate events over the years. One of the uncontrollable issues which plaguing the game has to do with creators and their cheap tricks. Epic may have come up with a solution for this.
Now, most of the community has its ambivalent opinions about this. However, anything that is fake and only meant to lure viewership is absolutely despicable. For a while, there was no method of calling these fraudulent creators out. Epic Games realized that problem and acted on it.
Recently, they sent an explanation of how this “report a creator” would work. Essentially, these creators scam players into using their code. Their trick involves a subtle way of using content as their bait. With this new actionable procedure, there are two things Epic is taking responsibility for. Primarily, they are going to make sure that the community is protected from fake content. Secondly, the promise of free V-bucks or skins, etc. always lure people – thus, creators will now have to link their legitimate social media profiles with their account. Thanks to Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks’s tweet, we now have clarity on the matter.

This method, which Epic mentioned, will help everyone identify whoever is doing illegitimate stuff like this. For instance, creators used to go scot-free before. “Creators cannot provide outfit or free V-bucks for using a creator code.” This clearly stipulates that if anyone is making grand claims like that, then they are clearly lying to increase their outreach.

Epic has also mentioned the phrase “legal action”; They have put in some guidelines and active measures that will stop people from abusing their power of being a creator.

“Creator code changes are no longer available for the foreseeable future. A future version of Support-A-Creator will require all new and existing Creators to update and maintain their Profiles with legitimate social media accounts.” These two statements make it crystal clear what is going to happen to future offenders.
One must hark back on the incident that happened with SerpantAU. Although it might not have been that big of an issue, it still falls under the same category. Creating anything with false promises or that has no resemblance with ‘originality’ is strictly forbidden in Fortnite. It’s great to see that Epic is finally coming up with a measure to prevent fraudulence.
