Wherever there is esports, cheaters are not far away. This may be controversial but it’s the bitter truth. Almost every major competitive sport has seen its fair share of cheaters and it doesn’t seem to stop. Cheaters and hackers are still ruining everyone’s experience in competitive and casual settings. But, this particular incident shocked everyone in the Fortnite community.
The FNCS is underway and, after two qualifier weekends, we await the finals that will be held from August 14-16. But in a shocking turn of events, a cheater actually managed to make it to the Finals, without being caught. That is until he started streaming with his cheats on, deliberately. Yes, that really happened and obviously people found out because he wanted people to see how easy it was to cheat in Fortnite
The cheater, who goes by the name Kona, qualified for the FNCs finals until he was banned. He even showed us the dashboard that he used and it was insane. He had access to aimbot, wallhacks, and even loot hacks. Yes, loot-hacks that showed him where the best loot is or which player has the best loot. That is some serious hacking.

Kona’s interview with Ronaldo and Clix after being banned from Fortnite
After the whole fiasco, Kona actually had a live interview with Ronaldo and Clix. In the interview, he revealed that he used soft-aim cheats throughout semis and group stages. That is not all. He also revealed that the cheats took him 5 minutes to use, and cost him just $11. Yes, you read that right. For just $11, you can buy cheats that will instantly make you a Fortnite pro.
Kona also mentioned that he was just 15 years old and this prompted Ronaldo to rant against Epic saying, “You let a 15-year-old bypass your multi-billion dollar security system for $11 in 5 f****** minutes!”
That is absolutely insane. To top it all off, the website he got his cheats from now has close to 11,000 orders for these cheats!
People who are using softaim are not getting banned, but people who have it in their name are LOL

This is a serious cause for concern. Not only is this the going to change the face of competitive Fortnite, but it also reveals how broken the security of the game is. FNCS is no small thing. There is a lot of money at stake and, well, if cheaters like Kona are not caught, what is the point of professional players grinding all day to get better. All you need is $11 to become a Fortnite pro, apparently.

Fans who saw this fiasco were divided on the topic. Some sided with Kona, saying he exposed a broken system. Others called him a plain cheater and urged the community not to give him more clout. Whatever side you take, this incident has shocked the entire Fortnite community.
This incident may have never even come to our notice if Kona hadn’t started streaming. Epic Games really needs to step up here and do something before these cheaters ruin the game forever.
