However, it seems like the developers have other massive short-term plans for the players in the game. Recently, a countdown has appeared in the game, and it seems like it’s a pre-cursor for the arrival of a new live-event in Fortnite.

New Fortnite live event on Friday, August 6
Recently, an Abductor surfaced right in the middle of the map. Players can travel to the ship floating above and they can notice a giant countdown on it. Many fans knew about the existence of a countdown to a live event because of some leaks from dataminers. The leaks showcased the graphics of this countdown, which showed up a few hours ago.
The countdown is currently showcasing the time remaining for the start of an upcoming live event in Fortnite. According to it, the event will happen on Friday, August 6. The clock will strike zero on that day at 6 PM ET/3 PM PT/11 PM BST.

Is the Ariana Grande concert finally happening?
