Chapter 2 Season 6 of Fortnite is right around the corner, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Epic Games changes the shotgun meta yet again. The developers vaulted the Pump Shotgun in Chapter 2 Season 5, leaving the players with Lever-Action, Tactical, and Charge Shotguns.

Over the years, the Pump Shotgun had solidified its place as the best shotgun in Fortnite. Naturally, its removal has sparked a debate in the community regarding the current most efficient shotgun in the game.

Twitch streamer SypherPK is one of the most experienced Fortnite players in the world. He has played the battle royale game tirelessly during its peaks and valleys invariably.

In a recent video, the veteran shared his two cents on the new best shotgun in Fortnite:

SypherPK compares the three primary shotguns in Fortnite

Starting with the Tactical Shotgun, SypherPK appreciated the weapon for its ability to break builds efficiently and enhance peace control. Furthermore, its Purple and Gold variants boast significant damage.

The Lever-Action Shotgun seems like a combination of the Pump and Charge shotguns. It has explosive damage, but the widespread and low headshot multiplier compensate for it. It is arguably the most balanced weapon in Fortnite.

Last, but not least, there is the Charge Shotgun. It won’t be an exaggeration that using the Charge requires an immense amount of skill. Unlike the Tactical and Lever-Action, the Charge can deal over 200 damage at Blue, Purple and Gold rarities. Hence, players with good aim and reflex can easily master it to win almost every close encounter.

SypherPK claims Charge Shotgun is the best new Shotgun

SypherPK is a huge fan of competitive Fortnite and often takes part in tournaments like the FNCS himself. The streamer is well-aware of the weapons that yield the best results when used by the most skilled players in the community.

As per SypherPK, the Charge Shotgun is the new best shotgun in Fortnite, if used correctly. It’s shoot-on-release mechanic certainly requires time to learn, but can be highly efficient if players get the hang of it.

The Fortnite creator also believes that the Pump Shotgun might not return to the game because the current meta around shotguns equally favors the Lever-Action, Charge, and Tactical. In contrast to that, the Pump had always overshadowed its counterparts by far. With Chapter 2 Season 6, Epic Games should continue its balanced approach and rewards players with skill, timing, and precision.
