Earlier in February, the employee who imposed the allegations of inappropriate behavior on Christian Horner was suspended from the Red Bull Racing team. And to make matters worse, it was International Women’s Day when they let her go. Nonetheless, the female employee appealed against Red Bull’s decision and is registered to go to an employment tribunal. A friend of the employee has come out and given insights into the post-firing situation.
It is a pity for anyone who is fired or suspended from a company, raising questions about not only one’s work but in this Red Bull investigation case, also on the character of the person. The friend, while talking to the BBC, suggested how the female employee could not process how, despite giving all the evidence, Red Bull came out with the verdict of Horner not being guilty. The friend claims that the fired employee isn’t allowed to talk to her friends about the investigation and can only talk to direct family members.
According to the BBC, the friend said, “The fact she can’t talk to her friends, is only allowed to talk to her direct family members… you have a single female who has followed the right process and feels like she is unheard and it has been a totally unjust process. It takes a pretty brave woman to do what she has done. And unfortunately, it is a very poor state of affairs.”

As the case is due to go to an employment tribunal, the employee’s friend talked about how the female was threatened with legal jargon every step of the way. She said, “As a friend, I can tell you I would assume that Horner, like he has done every step of the way, will do everything he can to make sure that the employee tribunal is not public. Unfortunately, the date is a long time away. She has been threatened with legalese every step of the way, as has the media. She has now been suspended and it’s clear that’s Red Bull following a process to eventually fire her.”

One would believe that the allegations and investigation into a matter as serious as inappropriate behavior towards an employee would hamper Christian Horner’s position at the firm. And while Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen are rumored to be in line to leave the Red Bull Racing team, Christian Horner is believed to be backed by the Thai Owners, with whom Horner had a meeting in Dubai. The Red Bull TP is rumored to have plans to take control over Red Bull’s Motorsports and Beverage division.
The rumors suggest, “The Thai majority shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya is fully behind the plans of team boss Horner, who allegedly wants to take over the entire power in both the beverage company and the motorsport empire. This support could only be shaked if a civil court were to find that Horner behaved inappropriately towards an employee.”
