The Miami Heat are battling Los Angeles Lakers for the fourth ring in their franchise history. However, in Game 1 they couldn’t hold LeBron and Anthony Davis in a blowout defeat. Moreover, they might have to play the upcoming games without two of their best players, Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic.

Miami’s defense practically collapsed from the pressure of containing Anthony Davis. AD scored at will during the entire game and finished with 34 points while shooting 52.4% from the field.

Following the embarrassing defeat, former NBA player Larry Sanders trolled the Heat on Twitter. He wrote, “Dear, Miami Heat I can Gaurd Anthony Davis…see you this summer (emojis)”.

Sanders has been out of the league since the 2016-17 season and was originally drafted by the Bucks back in 2010. However, his NBA career was cut short due to anxiety and depression issues. While the 31-year-old might have only been joking about him guarding AD, it is true that the Heat were completely outplayed in Game 1.

The Heat need to regroup after such an embarrassing defeat and come back with a better plan in Game 2. However, if Dragic and Adebayo do miss the upcoming game, it won’t make their job any easier.

All-Star forward Jimmy Butler also dealt with an ankle injury in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Butler returned to the game in the second half but looked in constant pain for the rest of the game. If the Heat loses Butler as well, their dream of an NBA Championship could be as good as over.
