Tottenham Hotspur are going in the right direction as they try to find a way back to the UEFA Champions League. The North London club finished seventh last season and will play in the newly created UEFA Conference League, the third-best European tournament after UCL and the Europa League.
This isn’t good enough for a club of Tottenham’s stature, and their chairman, Daniel Levy, is making the moves required to turn the club’s fortunes around. It all starts in the transfer window as Spurs are making some good moves.
Tottenham has signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla, with Érik Lamela joining the Spanish club as part of the deal. Spurs will pay an additional €25m (£21.4m) for the 20-year-old winger. Gil will join the club after the conclusion of Spain’s run at the Tokyo Olympics.
