Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has looked really impressive every time he has played for Liverpool. However, his time at Liverpool has been marred with a lot of injuries, and hence he has rarely been featured for the reds. Things are starting to look up now.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is fit again, and he will play a big part in Liverpool’s 2021/22 campaign. His coaches have been mightily impressed with him in training, and there’s a new position that the young Englishman might play in. Speaking to Liverpool’s media team, ‘Ox’ was asked if he likes playing in Roberto Firmino’s false nine position, and he had a lot to say. The reporter also asked him about his goal against Burnley.

“I was gonna say. I think I was more of a Bobby Firmino-esque goal. Bobby, be careful. But yeah, no, obviously it was nice in the season to get one. It’s been a while, and it’s nice to just have that bit of a confidence booster and a reminder. That’s the sort of role that Bobby plays, false nine, I think,” he said.
He then proceeded to compliment Firmino’s playing style and playmaking abilities. The Brazilian forward has been a vital cog in this Liverpool attack ever since he joined the club. He did have a subpar season by his standards last year, but he’ll look to snap out of the slump.
“I think he’s the best in the business at it. The attacking situations he makes it so much easier for Salah and Sadio or Diogo, just sort of drop-in deep and leaving spaces in behind for them and attracting people and defensively as well,” Oxlade-Chamberlain concluded.

Arsenal fans were incensed by the midfielder’s decision to leave the club as he was one of their best players alongside Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in the 2016-17 season. However, the move didn’t really work out for Ox due to his injury woes, but hopefully, this will be the season when the young star finally proves his worth.
