Gianluigi Donnarumma becomes most valuable free agent signing ever

While the goalkeeper certainly is turning heads in the international stage, Donnarumma certainly wants to excel in club football. The Italian, who was a free agent, recently accepted a lofty contract from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain.

Given that the ex- AC Milan goalie has so much experience despite being only 22-years-old and is coming off of an excellent Euro 2020 finals, Donnarumma’s market value has skyrocketed to a whopping €60 million. With his recent signing with the French giants, the Italian has officially become the most valuable free agent signing ever.

This could prove to be a bargain for the French giants. Given that the Italian goalie is only 22-year-old and probably entering his prime, his stock is likely to increase exponentially if he continues to perform at such a high level.

After an unprecedented season where big European clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan were hard hit by the pandemic, clubs like PSG had a clear advantage. With clubs unable to meet lofty contract demands, PSG swooped in to sign the best free agents.

These free agency signings are the club’s masterstroke. Not only these players add incredible value to the team, the French giants do not have to pay a hefty sum to other clubs for players who otherwise are cornerstones of their clubs.

After bringing in the likes of Ramos, Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi along with Donnarumma, PSG look like a formidable team. With a stacked roster now, they have become one of the favorites to win the Champions League next season. Will the new signings finally do the trick for PSG and help them win their first European title in decades?
