Flamengo Player Giorgian De Arrascaeta Scores a Sensational Bicycle Kick Goal

In a football game, the one thought in every striker’s head is to get the ball in the net at any cost. Evidently, Flamengo player Giorgian de Arrascaeta thought the same thing during a match against Ceara. When a player scores a bicycle kick, the first thought that comes to mind is either Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo or Real Madrid player Gareth Bale. However, this time, the screamer came from de Arrascaeta.

Flamengo’s Rafinha, set up a beautiful run, and his perfectly timed cross found Giorgian de Arrascaeta. The 25-year old then used up all the available elements, the timing of his jump, the technique, the incredible venom and accuracy. The Ceara goalkeeper, Diogo Silva, could only watch helplessly as the ball sailed into the net.

In the end, Flamengo won 3-0 against Ceara, and took over at the top of the leaderboard in the Brasileirão. Aside from Giorgian De Arrascaeta, Pablo Mari and Gabriel Barbosa netted ealier, with Arrascaeta finishing the job in style.

Flamengo have now tied with Santos on 33 points, but are ahead in terms of goal difference. To be precise, they have scored 17 goals to Santos’ 11, and they both have won 10 games each.

Ceará in the mean time, are lying in 13th, one place adrift of qualifying for the Copa Sudamericana group stage. The good news is that they are comfortably ahead of the relegation spots, and will have a chance to move up again.

Ceara’s next fixture is on Saturday in Curitiba against Atletico PR on the1st of September. Meanwhile, Flamengo will square off against Porto Alegre International for a chance in the Libertadores semifinal.

Then, on Sunday they will go up against Palmeiras, in order to maintain 1st in the standings from Santos.

Santos themselves, drew against Fortaleza, putting them under pressure and needing a win against Chapecoense,
