Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina were one of the most loved tennis couples of recent times. Following their parting of ways, fans have rued the development. However, out of the blue, Monfils commented on Svitolina’s photo on Instagram giving rise to murmurs about the status of their relationship.
Svitolina posted a photo of herself in the quarantine bubble of Miami Open 2021. She was sporting earphones and was promoting them while enjoying the skyline of Miami. Monfils commented on the photo, raising an air of speculation.

“First my love,” Gael Monfils commented.
A month ago both Monfils and Svitolina had announced the unfortunate news of their breakup. They’d both posted identical messages to alert their fans of the breakup.
“Gael Monfils and I decided to take a break in our relationship. The decision was incredibly difficult because we still have love for each other.”
When did Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils start and end their relationship?
Monfils and Svitolina started dating in 2019 and since then have been a very well-liked couple. They even had a joint Instagram account. During the coronavirus break both the players became social media content creators as they created several funny Instagram ‘reels’.
But after the Australian Open 2021, they announced their split. Both of them had below-par Australian Open. Svitolina was ousted in the fourth round whereas Monfils crashed out in the first round itself. Coming out of Australia, Monfils seemed the worst hit.
He had an emotional press conference just after the loss, and he had no clue why he was playing badly. Monfils is still on a six-match losing streak. He last won a match back in February 2020.

Svitolina was the fifth seed in Australia and a lot was expected of her. But she again failed at a Grand Slam and was beaten by unseeded Jessica Pegula.

Again, Svitolina is the fifth seed at Miami Open 2021. She will receive a bye in the first round and will try to challenge her rivals later.
