As everyone knows, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez started dating in 2017, one year after he retired from baseball. During their four years of relationship, the ex-couple spend quality time together.

Per an old interview, A-Rod revealed he had a difficult time convincing himself that he was on a date with Jennifer. Because he was there as a friend. However, he went to the washroom to convince himself he was on a date.

“Thank goodness for me because if I thought it was a date, I would have fumbled a little bit all over myself… Then I went to the bathroom and then I started building some courage…,” A-Rod said to TODAY.

The Yankees legend also revealed when everything was going perfectly between them, the fire alarm interfered with their date.

“Sometimes on the seventh inning of that date or sixth inning, I realized this may be not as friendly, this may be a date… Then I went to the bathroom, I said, okay, now I’m gonna get really tough on this… The fireplace went off, we had to rush out of the building…”

Currently, Jennifer is in a relationship with Ben Affleck, while A-Rod is enjoying the company of a fitness model, Kathryne Padgett.
