After the highly successful launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 1, the developers at Square Enix have revealed their intentions of a massive overhaul in the scale for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2. The developers believe that Part 2 will definitely throw off player’s expectations that have played Part 1.
At the CEDEC+Kyushu 2020 conference headed by Square Enix, Yoshinori Kitase, and co-director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the scale of the world outside of Midgar will increase significantly. Kitase continued by saying that players who think they know what will happen with Part 2 are in for a surprise.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 1 to explore the world outside
Kitase confirmed that Part 2 will explore the world outside the game’s metropolis of Midgar. Players can play the game as Cloud Strife and his feud with Shinra in locations not just in Midgar. They also confirmed that there will be a great detail to the outside world, as was the case with Midgar in Part 1.
Although the story is common knowledge to the public as the first game had released in 1997 for the Playstation, Kitase believes that this allows the developers to work on the game’s details and not on the story as much. He believes that players who enjoyed the surprises in FF7 Remake Part 1 will definitely enjoy the upcoming installment.

New Battle System for Part 2
Hamaguchi commented that there has been a major shuffle in the internal staff present in the development for Part 2. He further commented that the current crop of developers’ primary inspiration comes from Part 1 and not the first game in 1997. Hamaguchi also confirmed that the development of a new battle system.

Dubbed as the “Action Combat”, Hamaguchi confirmed a change to the famed combat system of FF7. FF7 Remake Part 1 released for the PS4 on March 2020. There are also rumors that an upgraded FF7 Remake Part 1 for the PS5 will release in the upcoming months. Fans of the franchise are to be sure looking at some exciting months ahead.
