On Friday, the Ferrari team dominated the proceedings in free practice ahead of Mercedes. On Saturday, it was much of the same story, likely restoring hope for the Tifosi. However, there are chances that their joy could be short-lived when Qualifying arrives.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the Mercedes boys are not running on full power yet. As it turns out, they have some cooling issues which can only be solved until the Spanish GP.

So, they will be turning up the wick when qualifying does arrive. Call it what you will, but it does seem like Mercedes are ‘sandbagging’.

Qualifying for the Bahrain GP will get underway soon and it will be a straight fight between Mercedes and Ferrari for the win. Red Bull in the meantime are not too far behind, but are locked in their own duel with Renault.

Just like in Australia, the midfield tussle will be something for the fans to look forward to.
