If Roger Federer could turn back time, he would like to revisit the 2009 US Open finals that he lost, and maybe he could have won it. “I’m not sure, I felt like I left that match with a lot of regrets. Probably feels like one of those matches I would like to play over again. Feel like I would probably win it,” said Federer. “I just had all these chances in multiple moments. The only time when he was really better, in my opinion, was the fifth set. Obviously, that was good enough to beat me that day. It was a good match. A lot of back and forth”- he added.
Federer will face the big Argentine in today’s second semi-finals, and it looks like Federer has made it clear he wants to make amends to his loss in the flushing meadows back in 2009. In what was already looking to be a feisty encounter, Federer has added a personal touch to the match up. Del Potro, who if is not exhausted from the earlier match, will pose a stern challenge. Having said that Federer has never looked better coming into the US open, having won two grand slam titles, and two ATP 1000 Masters, and in the process, having beaten Rafa Nadal thrice in a row. It promises to be a tight and action packed match up on the cards-specially when Federer is out for revenge!
