The friendly but borderline toxic banter between FaZe Clan and G2 Esports on Twitter is no secret. The esports organizations do not miss a single opportunity to troll each other online. Whether it’s after a loss or just on a whim, they’re always at each other’s throats.

Continuing in the same vein, G2 Esports founder Carlos recently mocked FaZe Clan by saying they are good, just not as an organization. Naturally, he single-handedly managed to upset the large army of fans and players that FaZe Clan currently has.

Jake Lucky from Esports Talk officially termed this a war between the two esports organizations.

FaZe Clan members Nate Hill and Temperrr respond to G2 diss

If G2 had declared war, FaZe was definitely not going to sit quietly. Streamers from FaZe took to Twitter to reply to Carlos’s diss. While FaZe Temperrr just called the G2 founder a clown, Nate Hill pretended like G2 is some random team nobody knows of.

Their replies took this feud to a whole new level. As players added fuel to the fire, many fans came to take part in the banter. While some dug up an old tweet of FaZe Nickmercs, possibly FaZe’s most popular creator, calling out G2, others compared the trophy cabinets of both the teams.

Fans of both organizations came forward to defend their side and diss the others. They sourced images from all over the internet to make a case for their favorite org being better than the other.

As Jake Lucky previously put it, the situation had escalated into a war. While Carlos was only trying to have some fun online, the fans took it too far. They started getting toxic towards the orgs and their players, called them names, and even started harassing FaZr players.

Naturally, Carlos had to put an end to this banter before it cause some real trouble. The G2 founder sent out another tweet within hours of his previous one asking fans to stop harassing players. He threatened to block anyone who continued to cause trouble.

Carlos has a disclaimer put up in his Twitter bio that says, “97.3% of the tweets in this account should be taken lightly,” and his tweet about FaZe Clan was a similar jest. Clearly, fans have a hard time understanding that.
