Father of 6, Shaquille O’Neal, Pokes Fun at Serena Williams for Major Pregnancy News at Met Gala: “She Need to Go to Sleep at Night”

The Met Gala 2023 featured inimitable maternity styles. Apart from Rihanna, who flaunted her baby bump in a Maison Valentino gown, the biggest night in fashion also saw the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion, Serena Williams, announcing her second child. Williams told reporters that there were “three of us” on the red carpet, including husband Alexis Ohanian. The power-couple had welcomed their first child, Olympia, in 2017.

With many celebrities chipping in, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal held a strong take on the tennis legend’s presence at the Metropolitan Museum. The 4x NBA champion is a big-time legend, and not necessarily for his stature, but often for his big takes. 

Shaq takes a dig at the former tennis superstar

Shaq is very intuitive with his words. The Lakers icon on his YouTube podcast, The Big Podcast with Shaq, poured his thoughts on the fashion event labeling it as ineffectual. The 51-year-old also took jibes at tennis legend Serena Williams for attending and flaunting her baby bump.

Shaq, who is a father to six children, made his intentions clear in his thoughts and considers such social events to be redundant. Poking Williams, O’Neal said, “She need to go to sleep at night.” The 51-year-old didn’t appreciate Williams for attending the Gala to grab the spotlight for her pregnancy.

He stated that the tennis star should be at her home, taking care of herself and her unborn child instead of being a part of a “pointless” event, rocking a tight outfit. Williams and Ohanian, however, were not the only happy couple at the event.

The former tennis superstar was spotted with the American supermodel, Karlie Kloss. A day after the fashion event in New York, Kloss, 30, shared a touching picture on Twitter with Williams, with the two flaunting their baby bumps. The caption of the picture read “Bumpin’ 🖤.”  

Kloss and her husband, Joshua Kushner, are loving parents to their two-year-old son, Levi Joseph. In addition to Williams and Kloss, Barbadian singer, Rihanna, also graced the red carpet. Riri is expecting a second child with her partner and rapper, A$AP Rocky.
