The UFC celebrates the birth of veteran Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer today. Buffer has been the official ring announcer for UFC since 1996. Introduced as the “Veteran Voice of the Octagon,” no fight feels complete to fans without Bruce’s baritone voice.
On this day, BT Sport posted a video wherein Bruce provided an interesting insight into his life.
His boxing counterpart, the popular Michael Buffer, is actually Bruce’s half-brother. Bruce narrated the story of meeting his half-brother to the interviewer, and it left viewers speechless.

He explained how he realized that Michael shared his last name when he watched him announce a boxing fight. He admired Michael for his style and voice.
However, he couldn’t fathom sharing his surname with the great announcer. He apparently went through every phonebook to look for other ‘Buffers’, and to his surprise, ended up finding out that he actually shares a much closer bond with Michael than he could have imagined!
Twitter fell in love with the story immediately.
“IT’S TIME!”- Dive into Twitterati’s reaction to the story by Bruce Buffer
Its great that 2 lads who were bros but didn’t meet until around 30 years from birth, took their gifts & made it big time in their craft! But what’s better is that they did it together & still do, side by side, money has split many a family up, not the Buffers, inspirational!!!!!
