Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal fears unrest among the Red Devils’ fans despite their  midweek win over Burnley. RvP scored from the spot and Chris Smalling netted twice to put Manchester United third on the table, just two points clear of Arsenal, who are fifth.

The victory against relegation threatened Burnley was far from convincing, and LvG echoed the sentiments of some of the fans at the post match interview. “I heard the first whistles, that is a concern because we play for the fans, fans are an important part of the team,” he said. “They keep the club alive and that is very important, but the match is always ninety minutes, not forty five,” he added.

Manchester United have all but lost their title hopes, and the competition for the Champions League spot is getting hotter and heavier by the minute, with just five points separating the Red Devils and their seventh placed historical rivals, Liverpool.

LvG and the fans will do well to pray for some smooth sailing ahead for their lads in red.
