The Monaco Grand Prix is usually the fanciest event on the F1 calendar, attracting a wide variety of celebrities. On Saturday, actor Tom Holland turned up to watch the qualifying session. For the race, tennis star Serena Williams showed up to witness the crown jewel of the sport.

And not just that, the 23-time Grand Slam champion even had the honor of waving the checkered flag!

Speaking about the race, Max Verstappen took his first Monaco win, ahead of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.

And, after the three drivers appeared for their interview, Serena, too, had an interview. As it turns out, this is the first time Formula One has interviewed a special guest along with the drivers. Without a doubt, the sport knew that it was in the presence of a tennis legend and jumped at the chance to interview her.

Serena Williams definitely had a good time at the race

Needless to say, the former World Number 1 enjoyed herself thoroughly. Serena Williams also admitted that she had met Max Verstappen, prior to standing alongside the Dutchman for his interview.

It is also worth noting that she even got VIP treatment at the principality of Monte Carlo.

Prior to the race, Williams got a tour of the F1 paddock and saw the F1 Safety cars. While Safety Car duties are split between Mercedes and Aston Martin, it was the latter’s turn this time. And so, Serena got to familiarize herself with the Vantage and DBX ahead of the race.

Interestingly, tennis fans have Aston Martin to thank for Williams’ presence at Monte Carlo. This is because she is the brand ambassador for the British automobile manufacturer and was probably a guest for the Aston Martin Racing Formula One team.
