Lewis Hamilton has been an inspiration for many around the world. The Mercedes man is not only one of the best drivers but is also an advocate for social issues. So it is only natural that the Briton, over the course of his illustrious career, has amassed a huge fan following. And as it turns out, among his multitude of fans, Olympic Gold Medal Winner Eliud Kipchoge is one of them.

Lewis Hamilton sent a lovely message to the Kenyan long-distance runner who looks to break his own world record in the Berlin Marathon. In a 40-second Instagram video shared by Kipchoge. Lewis compliments his quality of pushing the limits.

Lewis said, “I know you have a huge target coming up at the Berlin marathon. I will be watching closely.”

“Really inspired by how you continue to push and show that there are no limits except for the ones we put in our minds. So keep dreaming big and keep pushing. Good luck and I wish you all the best,” Hamilton said.

Kipchoge was at a loss for words after hearing Lewis Hamilton’s message. The Kenyan revealed on his Instagram how Lewis has always inspired him.

He captioned his Instagram post, @lewishamilton is an athlete who has always inspired me. Receiving a message of support from him means a lot to me.”

Eliud Kipchoge, the 13 Gold Medal Winner, will be looking to add another Berlin Marathon record to his glittering list of achievements.

Zhou Guanyu has an ally in Lewis Hamilton

Like Eliud Kipchoge, Hamilton’s colleague and Alfa Romeo driver Zhou Guanyu is also a fan of the Mercedes driver. Additionally, the Chinese driver explains how he has been in awe of Lewis Hamilton. He also mentioned Lewis as “one of the greatest in the history of motorsport”. 

Zhou Guanyu also opened up about how the 7-time World Champion has supported him in his rookie season. He said, “For me, I know I’m not going to be fighting for the title (like hamilton did on his debut), maybe to score points get the best out of my car. So big respect to him.”

He further added, “Especially in F1, the hardest competition, to be winning seven years is crazy. Doesn’t matter if you have the best car, still winning is not easy.”

The Chinese concluded by saying, “He congratulated me after Bahrain and we sometimes stay in touch. Not knowing him for long, I think it’s the first time I’ve actually got to know him, this year. Obviously advice he wouldn’t give me, because it’s a competition.”
