George Russell has been the epitome of consistency this season. Despite Mercedes’ evident lack of pace, the Brit has consistently churned out results for them. In F1’s last week of their break, George has been spending time with Tennis greats Roger Federer and Andy Murray.
The duo was part of Team Europe in the Laver Cup, with Roger playing his last ever tennis match of his career alongside Rafael Nadal.

Among the fans who were present in the stadium to bid goodbye to the Tennis Titan, Mercedes driver George Russell was one of them. Russell also had the opportunity to meet Roger’s Team Europe teammate, Andy Murray.
Roger teamed up with one of his fiercest rivals, Rafael Nadal, to play a Men’s double match against Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock. It wasn’t a fairytale ending for Roger as they lost the third set tie break 11-9.
However, in an emotional farewell, Roger Federer teared up during his interview. The Swiss maestro found it hard to speak as his poignant emotions were clear. Roger later caught up with an old friend, George Russell. In an Instagram post shared by George, he complimented the Swiss star after his glittering career came to an end.

Roger Federer commented on his post stating, “Great to see you George. Hopefully next time its on the track”.?

Throwback to when Roger Federer met George Russell and Lewis Hamilton
Earlier this year, Roger Federer took a break from his tennis practice and visited the Spanish Grand Prix. He visited the Mercedes camp and cheered for the Mercedes pair George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
The 20 Grand Slam winner shared a post later on his Twitter that featured Team Principal Toto Wolff, Lewis, Russell, and reserve driver Nyck de Vries.

The Mercedes camp planted a host of new upgrades for their W-13 car in the hope of winning their first race this season. Lewis and George both finished in the top 3 of the FP2 session.
Meanwhile, the 20-time Grand Slam champion was enjoying his time in the Silver Arrows garage. He was seen having a good time with Team Principal Toto Wolff and Reserve driver Nyck de Vries.
