The world of F1 has started to get pretty interesting even before the 2024 season starts. The news about Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari is echoing like a hit song on the radio and Mercedes is likely to be left in the turmoil. And to rub salt in the team principal, Toto Wolff’s wounds, the director of the Red Bull Formula One team, Helmut Marko made a statement that breaks the Silver Arrows’ dreams even further.
The 80-year-old came forth to talk about his take on the transfer and Mercedes’ future. While Marko decided to talk about Mercedes’s current shift, he brought up Toto Wolff’s statement from the 2025 drivers’ lineup. And, certainly, the reply from Helmut Marko has crushed any dreams that Wolff had of trying to get back at Lewis Hamilton by emerging a victorious team.

It feels like the 2024 season is not going to be as interesting as 2025, or, on the contrary, it could altogether be the biggest hit. Many driver lineup changes are likely to take place, including Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, after this season, and that’s when things are likely to get even more personal. For the last year that many drivers will be spending with their teams, it could be one of the most bitter for some.
While Mercedes is taking all the necessary steps to recover from Lewis Hamilton’s departure, Toto Wolff comes up with a plan to bring in Max Verstappen to his team. But this was soon silenced by Helmut Marko as he spoke with Sport.de. Besides discussing the transfer, an update for Red Bull fans was given, as the director, Marko, said Checo has a chance of continuing with the team depending on his 2024 season. About Toto trying to call Max into Mercedes, Helmut Marko said, “Toto Wolff will try that, but he will be unsuccessful.“

Another driver who was being talked about to drive alongside Max Verstappen is Daniel Ricciardo. The driver has had tiers with the Bulls for a long time, but according to Marko, “Ricciardo still has a long-term contract and is not available.” Although the focus is on Mercedes and Ferrari right now, Red Bull is still on track for a great 2024 season. Max Verstappen is in his prime, and he has a long way to go. The new car is supposed to be an upgrade to the world champion-winning car from 2023, and Verstappen is strapped to take this season.
When will they showcase the cars for 2024?
For everyone wondering where Red Bull’s car is for 2024, there is great news. The date is nearing, but among all the other cars, Red Bull will be showcasing its car last. So far, McLaren has dropped its MCL38 livery, and this launch came as a surprise on January 16. Haas was the next team to showcase their car, and although it received mixed reviews, its potential will be showcased on February 11 at Silverstone.
Now, two out of eight cars have been showcased, and Williams will be showing their car on February 5 in New York. Stake F1 will be sharing the date and will have its C44 launched in the UK. This is followed by Alpine hosting its launch event at Enstone on February 7. The newly branded Visa Cash App RP will have its launch on February 8 in Las Vegas.
