The saga unfolding surrounding Christian Horner, who finds himself under strict internal investigation by the energy drink giant Red Bull, paints a picture of uncertainty as the team readies to take on its twentieth season in Formula 1. The investigation ensued after accusations regarding inappropriate/transgressive behavior with an employee at Red Bull Racing came to light. And now reports are suggesting that a lot of evidence in support of the allegations is indicating Horner’s exit from the team.

Red Bull has handed over the investigation to an external, specialized lawyer. This proactive approach to launch the investigation only highlights the gravity of the allegations against the team principal.

It is to be noted that the main figure in determining Horner’s fate within Red Bull Racing is Thai Chalerm Yoovidhya, the majority shareholder in the company with a 51 percent stake. Yoovidhya has stood by Horner so far, but the outcome of the investigation may change his stance. But nothing can be said until the inspection is done.

The scrutiny surrounding Horner’s future is at its peak as other stakeholders await Yoovidhya’s verdict, which could potentially result in Horner’s suspension or termination from his role.

A recent article from De Telegraaf sheds further light on the precarious nature of Horner’s position within Red Bull Racing. The original report, which was in Dutch, brings to the fore a striking detail from the translation of the term “one worker” from Dutch to English. The term “werkneemster,” which translates to “employee” had a female agentive suffix in the original article.

According to the latest tweet from ‘RBR News’, all the evidence against Christian Horner is pointing toward his exit from Red Bull Racing. At present, he is continuing his duties as Team Principal. On Friday, Christian Horner is to face Red Bull in a meeting to address the inappropriate behavior claims made against him.

Christian Horner has enjoyed unprecedented success with Red Bull. The longest-serving team principal in F1 has conquered six Constructors’ Championships and seven Drivers’ Championships. However, his legacy faces the possibility of being tarnished.

When asked about the allegations and the statement from his employer, Horner’s response was just a quick denial, likely advised by his legal team. He stated in his statement to De Telegraaf, “I completely deny these allegations.” As he considers his future, Horner needs to decide whether he wants to engage in the internal battle to clear his name or to plan his next move amidst ever-increasing uncertainty.

As Horner is in a comparatively high-ranking position, it is said that the staff member complained to the team’s parent company at Red Bull in Austria. Post that, the investigations started. “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation,” Red Bull said in a statement. “This process, which is already under way, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister. The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
