Ferrari is making a big move by bringing Lewis Hamilton into the team. However, to make this happen, a seat was needed to be vacant, and Carlos Sainz was caught in the crossfire. The Spaniard, who has been making podium finishes, is now left without a seat for 2025.

Many questions like, “Where will Carlos Sainz go next? Which team will he join? Will he remain on the grid or move to Rally like his father?” have started to surface. And while there have been no talks of him leaving F1, the only question that remains is, which team? With many rumors of Carlos Sainz being set to join Audi, Red Bull, and Mercedes, the Lawerence Stroll-led Aston Martin has joined the race.

The winner of the Australian Grand Prix has impressed everyone with his performance this season. After all, he is the one driver on the grid who has the most to prove to get a seat worthy of him. Currently 5th on the grid, Aston Martin is trying to do everything to have a stronger 2025 season by preparing for it starting now. This is not surprising considering almost all other teams are doing the same.

Having Carlos Sainz Jr in Aston Martin might be a good move for the team if Fernando Alonso decides to leave the team. Lance Stroll will be a fixed member as long as his father is in charge, which leaves room for only one driver. Alonso is doing a good job with the team and has managed to close the gap with Mercedes. This is the closest the team has been to the Silver Arrows since Lewis Hamilton started his dominance. So this brings up the question, will Fernando Alonso leave Aston Martin?

Aston Martin’s original mission for 2025

After bringing in Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin has been doing quite well and the team plans on keeping it that way. Team principal Mike Krack has one job to do on priority and that is to keep the 2-time world champion in the team.

However, not only is Aston Martin having to deal with the threat of losing a driver to another team, but with 42-year-old Alonso, retirement is also a probable option. Despite his age, the Spaniard has been outperforming many talented younger drivers, and it’s clear that Alonso still has the racing spirit.

On the other hand, Fernando Alonso has not yet decided what he will be doing next season, but he has mentioned that if he continues to race, it will most likely be for the same team. In case the Alonso deal does not work out, the team has many options open to replace the 2-time champion.

The list of the new possible drivers for Aston Martin includes Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, and Sebastian Vettel among other names. Ultimately, it’s going to be the team’s decision as to which way they would like to go in the next season.
