McLaren, once one of the most dominant teams in Formula 1, had a long, dry streak without any wins. The last driver to win a race before this season was Daniel Ricciardo in 2021, and now Lando Norris has finally opened the doors by winning the first race in the last decade. Zak Brown, known for his leadership and culture, had made a bet with Daniel Ricciardo that if he won a race that season, he would get a tattoo. Which he did when Ricciardo won at Monza. And now that Lando Norris had won the Miami GP, he was under pressure to get another tattoo.

As the bird made the best bet, Zak Brown has two tattoos on his body, one that has the map of Monza and the other of Miami. However, when it comes to Oscar Piastri’s turn, a race win will not end up with more ink on Brown’s body, but this time it will end up with a rather fancy haircut.

Zak Brown’s victory celebrations are getting crazier and definitely out of hand

Two tattoos later, Zak Brown has put a stop to the ink train. In a recent Instagram live ahead of the Canadian GP, the team principal for McLaren mentioned that he is done with tattoos. He continued to say that he would find another way to celebrate Oscar Piastri’s victory with either a Mohawk or something else.

Zak Brown has not made it clear as to what else he would be willing to do, but it looks like the tradition has ended. It was a great trend, according to millions of fans, where Brown embodied McLaren’s wins. Imagine an arm full of circuits!

However, he is a businessman at the end of the day, and he would like to stop before he ends up covered in them. Recently, the team has proved that they are no longer just a midfield team and that it’s about time they win another world championship. McLaren is on a great trajectory to be a winning team, and both drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, have proved that they can lead and win races.

Although Oscar Paistri has not won a Grand Prix yet, he still ended up winning before Lando Norris. Here is what happened.

Oscar Piastri’s (almost) first wins behind Lando Norris

Oscar Piastri is not a Grand Prix winner, but he is still a race winner. How is that? That’s because he won the Qatar Sprint race on October 7, 2023. The race was not an easy one for Piastri. Similar to Miami, right behind the McLaren was a Red Bull with Max Verstappen in it. The dominator of 2023 was almost undefeated once he took an oath to not lose to Checo, and despite that, Piastri defeated the RB19 with a +1.871 lead.

Lando Norris, his teammate, came in third with a gap of +8.497 from the race leader. This was when Piastri proved that he was not a second car in the team but a contender for the world championship just as much as Norris. The two McLaren’s are showing promising results this season. With two-thirds of the season to unfold, anything can happen. The Miami win for the team was hopefully one of many, as not winning races for years in a row is unlike the team that holds the third-highest world championship trophies.
