The Belgian GP hasn’t been all sunshine and blossoms for McLaren. While Oscar Piastri managed a good P3 (p2 after George Russell’s disqualification), Lando Norris struggled his way to the fifth place. However, the team was able to pick up some points. Going into the summer break, they’ll surely work on their flaws. Meanwhile, the boss of the tribe, Zak Brown walked into the garage in a new look. And that has broken through the Papaya Army’s miseries.

Zak Brown knows how to celebrate the victory of his drivers. From giving ‘bear hugs’ to getting tattoos, the man from America is great at encouraging his team. Brown also knows how to keep his promises. He got a tattoo on his arm after Lando Norris’ maiden win in Miami. So, how could Oscar Piastri’s maiden win be left out?

Keeping his promise to Oscar Piastri, Zak Brown got a new hairstyle. The 52-year-old walked into the McLaren garage in a mohawk hairstyle. But, the twist was that he used a wig instead. Imagine Zak Brown in an actual mohawk! Channeling his inner Peter Wright, Brown wore a neon orange mohawk wig for Oscar Piastri. Taking to Instagram, the CEO shared his photos. As it seemed, his crew was thoroughly enjoying the boss’s new look.

Often considered the ‘green flag’ among all the team bosses, Brown’s endearing ‘new’ hairstyle was demanded by Piastri following his Hungarian GP win last week. To be honest, McLaren fans were waiting for such a moment from Zak Brown. After two tattoos, would he get a third one? But to the fans’ utter surprise, the ‘Papaya’ wig made its grand entry. However, this is not the first time that Brown celebrated a maiden win in such a unique way.

In 2021, Brown got his first tattoo, thanks to Daniel Ricciardo’s Monza win and a challenge thrown at him by Toto Wolff. What was the challenge? Wolff nominated Zak Brown to do something that terrifies him, as part of the Grand Prix Trust with Sky. So he tattooed the Monza circuit on his left arm with the date on which Ricciardo won. While this is the story behind the first tattoo, Lando Norris wanted the boss to get a second tattoo whenever he won his first race.

It took the team two years to get their second win. Initially, the Papaya leader was skeptical, given how painful it can be to get a tattoo. But ultimately he got his second one, this time on his right arm. Engraving the Miami circuit with the date of Lando Norris‘ victory, Zak Brown kept his word.

Now, months later, Brown had to do something for his (second) Aussie driver and the neon mohawk wig was perfect. That way, he kept his promise to Piastri and also entertained the paddock.
