Lewis Hamilton and George Russell make a great pairing when it comes to handling a team of Mercedes‘ stature. The British duo spearheaded the Silver Arrows attack in 2022 and tried their best to salvage points. Under the right conditions and the right car, the duo is capable to be the F1 title contender. However, what if they join together and form a driver?

In a recent video published by the Mercedes AMG Petronas Esports team on Twitter, renowned Youtuber Harry Pinero revealed the ideal match between him and the two Mercedes boys Hamilton and Russell. In the video he asked, “Just based of the fact that I’m rubbish, how long do you reckon it will take for me to reach a decent level?”

Pinero continued, “Be honest with me as well, Jarno, please.” As Jarno Opmeer received the question from the YouTuber, he began to explain, “I think eventually, it all depends on how naturally.” Before he could finish, Pinero further shared, “I’m basically in real life. I’m George Russell or Lewis Hamilton. I’m one of the two, but they call me George Hamilton.

Although he was joking, what if everything he said turned true? How about the German team gets the experience and caliber of Lewis Hamilton and the age and agility of George Russell, and together they create an indomitable beast? Well, in reality, that is never possible.

George Russell doesn’t feel Lewis Hamilton’s pressure up ahead

George Russell joined the Mercedes AMG F1 team after three decent years at Williams. As the young Briton joined the Silver Arrows, he managed to fend off his veteran teammate in his very first season. As round two is just around the corner, he doesn’t feel the pressure.

Being Hamilton’s teammate, and then leaving him behind by two places and 35 points wasn’t an easy job as he rubbed salt in Lewis Hamilton’s wounds. Russell’s performance was the only third year Hamilton lost to a teammate after 2011 to Jenson Button and then in 2016 to Nico Rosberg.

Russell, talking about his tight battle with Hamilton, shared in a report published by Motorsport, “I mean naturally, if you are fighting for 1-2s there will be a slightly different dynamic and that’s only natural. But I think the thing we have going for us is the fact that we are at very different stages of our career.”

The 2023 F1 season is just around the corner as team Mercedes and the fans have high hopes for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The fans would expect the duo to get on top once again. However, the team officials would want them to be on top, but without fighting with each other.
