Red Bull’s Sergio Perez recently celebrated his 32nd birthday. But what made his special day even better was that he got to celebrate it with his colleagues from Milton Keynes.

Team Principal Christian Horner and 2021 world champion Max Verstappen indulged in some banter with the Mexican driver. With the new season just around the corner, Horner joked that they made sure Sergio’s cake was ‘low-calorie’ as they need him to perform to the best of his abilities in 2022.

26 January was a special day for Red Bull, as it was Perez’s birthday. In order to make his day even more special, the team made him a cake and even sang the ‘Happy Birthday’ song for him.

Checo was first greeted by Horner in the team’s kitchen, where he had a cake waiting for him. Horner said, “Here you go, barely all low-calorie. You’re going to lose weight,” Perez added, “Let’s wait for Max.”

The Red Bull boss was still talking about the benefits of the cake. He said, “You lose weight when you eat them.” Verstappen arrived at the party and said, “We are so grateful that you are here with Milton-Keynes, you know to celebrate your birthday.”

Perez added, “Thank you for inviting me,” Verstappen joked and said, “It’s your 26th birthday,” Perez indulged himself in banter as well, and corrected his Dutch teammate by saying it’s “25th” birthday.

The trio began to laugh and Horner added, “The clock starts going backward.” Verstappen looked at the cake and was excited about it and said, “It looks like low-calorie.” Before he could say anything else the Milton-Keynes squad began to sing the birthday song for Checo.
