Lewis Hamilton has had many looks ever since he joined Formula 1. He is quite a fashion enthusiast and one can see that when he shows up at each Grand Prix. However, there is one look from down memory lane that he does not like in hindsight.

Lewis Hamilton appeared in an interview for Sky Sports in 2019, where he was questioned on various topics by a young fan. The topics included questions ranging from the best prank he pulled off at school to his 2018 song with Christina Aguilera called Pipe. One question that had Lewis stumped was about his look from the time he was at McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton on his buzz-cut look from the past

The young interviewer from Croydon complimented Lewis on his watch and asked if he could have it. Lewis quickly obliged and put the watch on the kid’s wrist. The interviewer later told Lewis that his mother thought he looked better when he was younger. To this, Lewis said that he didn’t know if he agreed with that.

However, what caught him off-guard was when the young fan whipped a picture out and asked him, “What were you thinking?”

The picture had Hamilton with a buzz-cut from the time when he was racing for McLaren. Lewis replied, Yeah, I think this is a terrible picture. Yeah, that was not a good look.”

Lewis then took the picture from him and said, “Your mum needs to go to the Specsavers because I look much better than I did then. Seriously.”

This wasn’t the only time during the interview when the 7-time world champion was caught offside. The fan asked him if it was him he heard in a Christina Aguilera song. Lewis smilingly replied he was not. The interviewer then told him that he thought it was him because in the song he had an American accent and now that he was speaking with him personally, he had an American and a somewhat Australian accent.

This shocked Hamilton and he explained the reason why he had a mixed accent was because of the reason he had been traveling since he was very young.
