Deceit and Oscar Piastri. These two words have become embroiled with each other after 2022. The reason for the controversial opening of this article is the Alpine-McLaren drama where there was a tug of war that went on to grab the former F2 champion. However, a recent discovery after the premiere of season 5 of Drive to Survive has pushed the clouds of the controversial 2022 back overhead.
The Season 5 of Drive to Survive which was released last month has given enough screen space to the young man from down under Piastri. To be honest, he has more screen space than the quadruple champion Sebastian Vettel. This made the hosts of Pitstop Podcast, Jake Boys and Fabio Bocca go into a flashback only to realize that when they had the McLaren rookie on their show last year, he didn’t reveal the actual truth. Piastri agreed with them when they fantasized about how it will feel for him to film DTS.
But recently, the podcasting duo has figured out that the McLaren driver was lying to them all along. Fabio Bocca says, “The big thing about Drive to Survive is that Oscar Piastri is all over it.”

Then, speaking to Oscar directly, via their YouTube channel, he said, “Now Oscar, you came and sat on this sofa in our living room there. Bro, you were lying to us. You were filming Drive to Survive. And he knew the whole time we didn’t.”

The McLaren faced their worst Grand Prix in recent times with an enormous stack of issues piling up on their already underwhelming car. While Oscar retired after 15 laps, Lando Norris had a race to forget as well. However, the poor performance of the team doesn’t come as a surprise, as an F1 Pundit already predicted their downward progress.
In a video, Brundle commented on the situation at McLaren, saying, “They’re struggling. I’ve been talking to people at the team. They didn’t get a car where they thought it should be, looked a bit of a handful to drive. It’ll be very difficult for Lando to keep his chin up if he has another difficult season. They think they know what the problem is. So, their first update will be very very telling as to how their season is going to be. McLaren are definitely struggling and on their back foot.”
