Zak Brown has been on the receiving end from the fans. The McLaren CEO recently presented his views in support of the FIA’s recent political ban imposed. The move, which was widely criticized and called out, did not seem to bother Brown, who believed that we should not be turning F1 into a political sport.
However, his recent tweet did not make matters any easier for the McLaren boss. The American shared his review of former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone’s documentary, Lucky.
Brown tweeted on his Twitter account, “Mega! Really enjoyed Lucky! An inspirational story about F1 and how it developed over the years in Bernie’s hands. Great job by @ManishPics, who also wrote and produced my favourite film ever….Senna”

Brown, who has been the CEO of McLaren since 2018, has been consistently involved in controversies during the season. The Oscar Piastri saga with Alpine stands out among them.
His review, in addition to his political ban comments, did not go down well with the fans. They called out the Woking-based team’s CEO on Twitter.

Subsequently, some fans called Brown a power-hungry person.
Anti-politics comments followed by a pro-Bernie interview makes a lot of sense. Idk why we keep hoping the people who work in positions of power F1 won’t be as bad as the everyone keeps telling us they are.
Anyway moral of the story everyone’s after power and nothing matters https://t.co/tx4C7XE2ZQ— Shalley (@shalley1999) December 28, 2022
so it’s okay for him to admire hitler and say that he’d take a bullet for putin but fighting for human rights is where you draw the line https://t.co/C5u976afe9

Meanwhile, one fan couldn’t believe how the CEO of an organization as big as McLaren’s was so oblivious to what he was saying.
crazy how the CEO of one of the biggest organizations can be so oblivious to what they are saying. https://t.co/CyicDYnxKY

Zak, you cannot say driver's comments are out of control and then endorse this, featuring a man whos comments at times truly were out of control. It's double standards.

Similarly, one fan commented, “I knew there was something wrong with you.”

Anything with Bernie Ecclestone speaking in, needs to be avoided, he certainly doesn’t warrant this kind of adulation imo

It’s not been the best of days for the McLaren boss. Hopefully, he gets more aware of the situation and changes his stance; as time passes. Moreover, the American will also hope to bounce back next season after finishing P5 in the WCC this season behind Alpine. Can the Papaya team fight back and challenge for race wins and podium finishes next season?
