A lot of people have helped become Sebastian Vettel what he is today. One, who has been a staunch supporter of the German is the former F1 Group Chief Executive, Bernie Ecclestone.
The 90-year-old had recently stated that he had a hand to play in Vettel landing the seat at next year’s Aston Martin team. Even Vettel has admitted, that the same is true.
Lawrence Stroll was obviously actively involved in the negotiations to bring Vettel to the Silverstone-based team; and, in doing so, the former Red Bull driver now has a seat in F1 next year.

Speaking in the pre-race press conference, Vettel was quoted as saying, “Well what is true is that I’m speaking to both (Ecclestone and Stroll) of them. And believe it or not, also other people.
“I would consider both of them as sort of friends and also people that I listen to and exchange, and in some regards, also look actively for advice.”
Despite helping him land the seat, Vettel chuckled at the prospect of asking for a commission from Ecclestone. In continuation, he responded with the fact that it would be a bit ‘harsh’ to do so!
“So yeah I did speak about those things. I wouldn’t ask a commission from a 90-year-old, I think that would be a bit harsh. Not sure he can afford it,” concluded Vettel on the subject.
