Much like F1 greats Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton, Marc Marquez is a phenomenon in Moto GP. While the F1 drivers have seven titles to their names each, this MotoGP rider has six in the premier class of 500cc. Despite having one short of the duo and one short of all-time MotoGP great Valentino Rossi, Marquez nonetheless enjoys being on top of his game. As the supreme rider has reached his 30s now, he was lately recognized by another true champion, Max Verstappen!

The 6x world champion recently had his birthday on February 17. As he turned 30 this day, defending F1 champion had great wishes for him for the day and for upcoming times. In a video released by Repsol Honda Team on their official Twitter handle, Verstappen shared, “Hi Marc, it’s Max here. Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. Happy 30th birthday.”

Because now you’ve been in the sport for a very long time already. You’ve had incredible success in your life. Luckily enough I’ve been able to watch a lot of it and I really appreciate it and admire a lot of what you do. I really hope that this year is going to be a good year. All the best,” the Dutchman concluded with the wish who lately has turned incredibly down to Earth.

This wish by Verstappen can be considered as thanksgiving to the MotoGP rider for his congratulatory message from 2021. The 30-year-old uploaded a congratulatory message for the Red Bull driver after the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP win.

Marc Marquez once congratulated Max Verstappen after his maiden title win

The Repsol Honda driver once shared his appreciation for Max Verstappen after the Dutchman defeated Lewis Hamilton to take home his first-ever F1 championship in Abu Dhabi in 2021.

The MotoGP driver took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the race, and eventually congratulate the 25-year-old. He said, “Just unreal. I mean what a race. What a season. Two great drivers.”

Thanks, Lewis [Hamilton], but especially congrats Max [Verstappen], congrats Red Bull. I lose [lost] my voice on the race. We win,” concluded the Honda team member with a happy grin on his face.

Max Verstappen and Marc Marquez were often spotted together at multiple Red Bull and Honda events. Most recently, during the Honda Thanks Day in Japan in 2022, the duo met and were photographed together. This could be the reason for the surreal relationship they share among themselves.
