Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo both suffered DNF in the Brazilian GP. It was a miserable afternoon for the McLaren duo in Interlagos as they failed to close the gap on Alpine for P4 in the constructor’s championship. The pair will be itching for the next race as they hope to finish above Alpine.
Moreover, Lando Norris dropped a huge hint regarding his teammate’s future in F1. Reports tip Daniel to take up the reserve driver role in either Red Bull or Mercedes. Norris said, “It’s always a shame going away from someone because I feel like I always build good friendships with my teammates and good relationships, which is why I always work well with my teammates.”
He further added, “But Daniel is Daniel, everyone loves Daniel. I will miss him as my teammate – but I won’t miss him because he’s going to be in the paddock next year…”
McLaren currently trails Alpine by 19 points. They’ll hope the pair of Lando and Daniel can pull out a rabbit from the hat and grab the P4 position in the constructor’s championship.
Daniel Ricciardo not treating the Abu Dhabi GP as his last race
Despite not being on the grid next year, Daniel Ricciardo is confident he’ll be back in an F1 car soon. The Aussie driver is not treating the Abu Dhabi GP as his last race. The honey badger has also received a grid penalty for his collision with Kevin Magnussen in Interlagos.
Daniel said, “I feel good. Mentally, I’m not treating it like it’s going to be my last ever race, but it could be. Like, I know that nothing’s guaranteed in the future, so I’m going out to enjoy it.”

He also added, “I’m not going to get too emotional about it, the thought of if it’s the last one or not, but I do want to enjoy it and take it for what it is.”
Daniel is currently P11 in the driver’s standings and will be looking to improve on it. He’s a single point behind retiring legend Sebastian Vettel.
