Valtteri Bottas partnered with Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes‘ most glorious days. The Finnish driver is considered one of the greatest ones of our times who doesn’t have a championship to his name. However, there once was another man described as “the greatest driver never to win the Formula 1 World Championship”. The 7x champion, Hamilton, who is yet to sign an extension with the Silver Arrows, has taken a leaf out of his book. Married to Mercedes, loyal Lewis Hamilton goes the ’till death do us part’ route like an ex-F1 legend.
If you are an uninitiated F1 enthusiast, I should tell you that we are talking about Sir Stirling Moss. The man won 16 GPs and finished in second place four times. Many remember him for his splendid victory over Juan Manuel Fangio at the 1955 British GP. The man, till his last days in 2020, remained associated with the Silver Arrows in the capacity of its brand as a prestigious ambassador and advisor. And Lewis Hamilton, whose stay at Brackely is now being questioned every day wants to emulate the Knighted late British driver.
According to Motorsports, Lewis said, “I continue to feel very much at home, it’s family. I see myself being with Mercedes till my last days, to be honest. If you look at the legends, Sir Stirling Moss was with Mercedes till the end of days. So, that’s been the dream for me to one day have that… well I have that, so I mean just continue on with that and continue to build with the brand.”

Mercedes had hoped to close the gap to Red Bull in the 2023 season campaign, but they stand behind Aston Martin as well. While the Silver Arrows couldn’t bridge the gap, Lewis Hamilton believes he can take the challenge to Silverstone. But why does the man think so?
According to speedcafe.com, Lewis Hamilton said, “I think we were probably slightly quicker on the straight and he was quicker through all the corners. It was really quite interesting just to see where we were lacking and where we were good. There’s also a positive statement today, but we do naturally need to add on some performance. They’ve [Aston Martin] been ahead the past two races, but for us to somehow still finish ahead is pretty awesome, so I’ll definitely take it.”
