It’s no secret that Lewis Hamilton is entering the twilight years of his F1 racing career. That being said, both Wolff and Hamilton know that their relationship and the latter’s role in Mercedes isn’t just limited to being a driver for them.
Toto Wolff reiterated this sentiment exactly while talking about Hamilton‘s future with the team. He said, “Although we’re not talking about a career end, it’s also important to speak about his role as an ambassador for Mercedes and the many sponsors that we have, and the implication he can have in our wider audience.”
Even though talks about Hamilton assuming an ambassadorial role are in the air, there is a sense of certainty that the Brit will race for Mercedes in the future. According to the Austrian boss, talks for a new contract are soon to be underway.
