Aston Martin has started the 2023 Formula 1 season with a bang. The Silverstone-based team has risen up to the challenge of the latest era of technical regulations and has delivered their drivers a solid car in the shape of the AMR23. The first four races of the season has proved as a testament to the jump the team has made from the bottom half of the pack. But while Fernando Alonso has been writing all the headlines, his teammate, Lance Stroll has some catching up to do.
Stroll missed out on some crucial on-track action as he skipped pre-season testing due to a wrist injury he sustained during the off-season. But he’s come back fighting. However, while his teammate has been scoring one podium after another, Stroll has always been behind Alonso, waiting in the wings. As it turns out though, enough is probably enough.
Lance Stroll warns the F1 grid

During the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, both Stroll and Alonso’s races were compromised due to a problem with the car’s DRS. But with the Miami GP up next, Stroll is keen to get back into the groove and display some heroics to get ahead of his teammate and other rivals.
In a feature posted on Aston Martin’s website ahead of the Miami GP, he was quoted as saying, “You need to take some risks but you can get punished for overstepping the mark. That’s how I like it, though! As always, we’ll be pushing hard this weekend to ensure we come away from the double-header knowing we made the most of every possible opportunity to score points.”
While Stroll gears up to tackle the next race ahead, an ex-F1 champion has tipped him to do the unthinkable.

It would be correct to say that currently, alongside Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, Alonso is a benchmark for the other drivers. But according to 1996 F1 champion, Damon Hill, Stroll will have to dig deep and destroy the Spaniard to become the undisputed king at a team that will challenge for wins and titles pretty soon.
He was quoted as saying, “He’d have to make it his ambition this year. He’d have to set his goal as ending Fernando Alonso’s career. Now that sounds brutal, but that’s what George Russell is trying to do [against Lewis Hamilton],” while a recent episode of the F1 Nation podcast.
