Netflix series Drive To Survive was meant to ‘show’ the drama of what goes inside Formula One and the teams. Yet in very meta circumstances, the series itself has become surrounded by drama with its critics and its approvers on both fences. But Lando Norris is in the latter category.
The McLaren driver approves of the series and believes in its objectives, its results and even in its flexibility. Norris recently revealed a key piece of information regarding what makes the cut and what’s cut out.
“You can often decide what is shown and what is not. Max is not seen that often, is it? He does not participate, right? I’m happy because I think it’s a cool thing,” Norris said as reported in Motorsport Total.

Although, the driver who recently celebrated his 22nd birthday hopes he isn’t portrayed ‘like an idiot’. Norris expressed his thoughts on the series while keeping his thoughts only for himself.
“I think they do a good job. I watch it every now and then, but don’t see the entire season or an entire episode. Everything’s fine from my side. But of course I can’t speak for Max.” (Translated via Google Translate)
Of course, Norris doesn’t need to speak for Max Verstappen. The dutchman is mostly pretty straightforward and honest with his thoughts, including those on Drive To Survive.
But Lando Norris believes the series has directly resulted in the boom in F1’s popularity in the United States.
It could also be argued that the show has increased Norris’ popularity amongst the young audience as well.
