After the breathtaking race in Bahrain last week, now it’s time for the second race of the season in Saudi Arabia, which is a race under the lights as well. Talking of night races, the seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, has the best stats with night races, and he surely has a good chance at winning in Jeddah once again.

However, unlike 2021, the Silver Arrow driver is struggling with his car in the 2022 season. He luckily finished third in the Bahrain Grand Prix after the two Red Bulls ahead of him retired. Moreover, the Brit wasn’t happy with his 2022 challenger throughout the race, but he still might have a chance to win in Jeddah. This is due to the fact that Hamilton has a phenomenal record when it comes to night races. He has won 16-night races since his rookie days in 2007.

Hamilton’s record to win night races is currently the highest, followed by Sebastian Vettel with 10-night race wins. Even rival Max Verstappen only has 2 wins in night races so far. The 37-year-old has won 43.24% of night races since 2008.

Lewis Hamilton breaks another Michael Schumacher record

During his decade and a half-long career, Hamilton has broken many of Michael Schumacher’s records like most wins, most podium finished, and most pole positions. He even tied Schumacher’s most legendary record of seven drivers’ world championships. Now, he is not just planning to just keep this record at a tie but break it by lifting his eighth title this season.

If Hamilton wins at the Saudi Arabian GP, then he will break another of Schumacher’s record of most wins in consecutive seasons. But that is not all. If Hamilton appears with Mercedes two more times, this season will also break Schumacher’s record of most appearances with a single constructor, which is currently at 179.
