McLaren star Oscar Piastri has a special lady in his life that you may not know about. The Australian rose to fame with his new deal with the papaya army last year. And he has now stolen hearts with his racing talent. When the Woking outfit ousted Daniel Ricciardo with a premature termination of his contract to take up Piastri, the team received flak from a lot of critics. However, the Melbourne native has earned his place in the king class of motorsports by forming a formidable duo with Lando Norris.

Thanks to the joint efforts of both Lando and Oscar, McLaren is inching towards the top of the World Constructors’ Championship. This has led to a lot of focus falling upon the team’s new recruit -Piastri. At 23, the Aussie prodigy is just as successful in his personal life as he is on the race tracks. Oscar Piastri has a girlfriend, Lily Zneimer, who is not too public about her life like some of the other WAGs of F1 drivers.

F1 photographer Kym Illman has dished out some details on Zneimer. According to him, his first encounter with Piastri’s girlfriend was at the 2022 British GP. Speaking on his overall impression of Lily Zneimer, Illman said, as per The Sun, “She’s British, polite, quiet, classy and by the time you watch this, has probably graduated with a degree in engineering.” Now, Lily’s educational background might snag your interest since she happens to have a background in STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics).

Formula 1 is based on the physics of motorcars and aerodynamics, so several people who have graduated in the STEM field work here. Given that Lily Zneimer is an engineering student, there is a chance that she might make her way into the sport as her boyfriend already works there. On this possibility, Illman said in 2023, “She wants a job in F1, and with her contacts, I’d say she has a strong chance of that.”

At Dax Shepard’s ‘Eff One with DRS’ podcast, Oscar Piastri spilled the beans on how long he has been with Lily Zneimer. The young couple have dated for over 4.5 years since they met in high school, according to the McLaren star. Going over the sweet details, Piastri said, “Yeah, so like the 2nd last year of school, we became a couple, and we’ve been together ever since. And it’s been nice, to have someone there from the start still with me.”

However, Piastri and Zneimer are quite reserved about their lives away from the race tracks. The lovebirds like to keep things private as Oscar said, “Yeah, we keep it private and I think not secretive like some relationships are, but yeah, we keep it to ourselves. We try to be out of the spotlight and just live normal lives.” This might be why the fans have very little information on the enigma that is Lily Zneimer. But if she joins the paddocks as an F1 engineer, more details about her will come up, surely!

While Lily Zneimer is perhaps busy getting an engineering degree, Oscar Piastri has made waves in F1. In just his second season with McLaren, he has become a force to reckon with. As the young talent repeatedly fights for podiums during the race weekends, it might be nice to see Zneimer cheer on him from the papaya army garage, every now and then, right?
