Lewis Hamilton had a rough start this season. He is now in Australia for the third race weekend of the season. Further, the Australian GP returned to the schedule after two years and so far Lewis Hamilton has the best stats on this track in terms of pole positions. But fans are worried about the struggling Hamilton this season.

The seven-time world champion has been on pole eight times in Melbourne. Moreover, he is the only driver who has converted a pole position into a race win at the Australian GP in the turbo-hybrid era.

However, things are looking different for the 7-time world champion this time around. The 37-year-old had a tough season in 2022, failing to qualify in the front row in the first two races. The seven-time world champion is struggling with the W13. So, many fans are speculating the 2022 season to be the end of Hamilton’s glory days. There is also a lot of doubt if Hamilton would be able to get a pole like previous years, especially considering his qualifying pace in Jeddah.

Lewis Hamilton isn’t happy with the W13 in Australia

The Silver Arrows are in Australia and the British driver duo again tested out the W13 for the Friday Practice. However, the Mercedes duo is still struggling with the car, especially the significant porpoising with the car, which is persistent since the pre-season.

The 2022 Mercedes challenger has been experiencing a lot of bouncing since the Barcelona pre-season testing. But the Brackley-based team worked on the issue and was hoping for things to change in Australia ahead of the practice. However, Lewis revealed nothing has improved and the car still suffers from porpoising.

Lewis Hamilton reported, “Nothing we change on the car makes a difference at the moment and that is the difficult thing. You get into the car and you are very optimistic, make changes, and then it doesn’t improve. There is just not a lot we can do.”

The seven-time world champion finished third in the first race but because of red Bull retiring. In the second race in Jeddah, the best Hamilton was able to get was a P10. Meanwhile, his teammate George Russell is looking better, finishing P4 and p5 in the first two races.

Hamilton’s Friday Practice results didn’t look that impressive, finishing P7 in the FP1 and P13 in the FP2. Meanwhile, Russell finished R12 and P11 in the Friday practice sessions.
