Carlos Sainz‘s career in F1 is currently hanging in the balance, as he still does not have a seat for 2025. Although there are two potential teams where he can head, they are a downgrade from Ferrari, to say the least. Both Williams and Sauber are in talks with the Spanish driver as they emerge as the two teams that Sainz can head to next year. Now we know that Sauber is an attractive option as they will be taken over by Audi in 2026, will this be enough for the Ferrari driver to make the switch?

Williams, on the other hand, is a team with a legacy and has the second-highest number of championships won by any team. Despite not being in form in recent years, the team has locked in Alex Albon to continue with them. However, so far, Carlos Sainz has not yet made up his mind to which team he would like to drive in 2025. Currently, everyone has high hopes for the Ferrari driver, as he has been performing quite well this season. Many say that he might even fight for the championship. But now the question stands, which team will be the best one for Sainz to take on for 2025?

As he is yet to find a team, many want to know if he has already made up his mind, or are still things to consider. To find out exactly what is going on in Carlos Sainz’s mind, he was called in for an interview by AS.com where he shared where he stands on finding his seat for the coming year. While discussing his future, Sainz explained, “In 2026, anything can happen, it’s a lottery. It’s very possible that next year I won’t be fighting for a podium or victory in Spain, and this year I will, but in 2026 it’s impossible to know.”

The decision of which team to go to is crucial as there is a championship on the line, and now it’s up to the Spaniard to decide if he wants to head to Sauber to join Audi in 2026 or join Williams, who has recently shown promise with their car getting better. So now, Sainz will keep his head down and make the decision that decides his career as an F1 driver. Although it’s been a while since the decision has been kept on hold, it will be soon that he will have to pick his team. Here is what Carlos Sainz had to say about the delay in picking a team.

During the FIA press conference, Carlos Sainz explained, “The decision will be made very soon, I don’t want to wait any longer. It has been occupying a space in my head for weeks, and it is time to make a decision, which will be made soon. I hope that we will soon have something to talk about. Explaining his priorities, the Ferrari driver said, “I need a couple of days at home before the Spanish GP my mind was not on the future but on the Spanish GP. The last few weeks have had a lot of commitments, and I have not been able to sit down and reflect. That is what I will do in the coming weeks.” In a press conference with Spanish Media, Sainz stated, “I’ve had the stage of getting to F1, of getting to a competitive team, of winning your first race. Next, there’s only one thing left for me and that’s winning a World Championship. I’ll keep fighting as long as I have the motivation to put up with the bad things about F1. Which are the travel, the politics, the interests, the negative things.”
