Cesare Fiorio, former sporting executive of Ferrari F1, thinks Scuderia principal Mattia Binotto is directly in standing by to settle on a choice on Sebastian Vettel‘s future. Sebastian Vettel is out of agreement toward the finish of the 2020 season.

It could well be his last battle as a Ferrari driver. The Scuderia can settle on getting another, new face or whether he chooses another test or resigns from the game.

Ferrari burned through no time in verifying Charles Leclerc on another long haul contract until the 2024 season. Yet Fiorio thinks two factors specifically why Ferrari is moving toward the circumstance accurately with regards to Sebastian Vettel.

Charles Leclerc has surprised everyone with two wins and seven poles and reaping more points than his teammate.

Reasons why Sebastian Vettel is made to wait

Sebastian Vettel involved himself in several controversies throughout the season. Both Vettel and Leclerc crashed into each other and retired from the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The German was a long way from his best in 2019, winning one race and completing fifth in the drivers’ title. Florio features this as one reason why he shouldn’t be offered another deal yet by team head Mattia Binotto.

During 2019, Sebastian Vettel committed a large number of failures, although he tried to correct it. These errors contrast with the experience he acquired with Red Bull when he was World Champion four times.” Fiorio explained.

That is why Binotto delays talks on an agreement is justified if we take into account two facts. First, the arrival of Leclerc, who has already shown his skills getting victories and poles. Without fear of his teammate, with more experience. ”

Second, the arrival of some very promising young drivers from lower categories, which increasingly resemble F1 even with cars of lower power and performance.”

These categories are a fundamental preparation base to make the jump to F1. In recent years, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Lando Norris, George Russell, Alexander Albon, and Antonio Giovinazzi have passed through here, ”he concluded.
