On Sunday, Lewis Hamilton overcame a last lap puncture to somehow clinch a win at the British Grand Prix. Interestingly, Hamilton was handed two trophies after winning the race. Firstly, one of them was the usual British Grand Prix trophy, but the second one was a special one.
Truthfully, Lewis Hamilton survived one of the most dramatic of final laps of his F1 career. He was one of several drivers to experience a tire blowout, though delamination occurred too late for an emergency pitstop.
As a result, he had to trundle around the track and pray that Max Verstappen did not catch him.

Teammate Valtteri Bottas, Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Raikkonen and McLaren’s Carlos Sainz were all in the same boat. Luckily, Hamilton was able to drag his three-wheeled wagon across the Silverstone finish line and win by just five seconds.

Why did Lewis Hamilton get this second trophy?
As it turns out, this second trophy belongs to the Royal Automobile Club and drivers receive it for winning the British GP. Additionally, the club usually awards this special trophy to recognize a driver’s outstanding “endeavor and commitment in the fields of motoring and motorsport.”
Apparently, this trophy resembles a Victorian, two-handled cup and is “covered with hallmarked sterling silver gilt.”
Sadly, the 6-time World Champion will not be allowed to keep his trophy as his mantlepiece. Instead, he will merely be presented the trophy and get his name engraved next to the year of the race.
